Greetings…
Flyboy and I got back from Vegas and California Wednesday night. We
had a fabulous time with his brother and wife. For those who are
wondering if I’m going insane from the tune, “It’s a Small World”, the
answer is, nope…
Never made it over there to go on it! We were busy little bees flitting
all over the place and had every intention of going on it, we just
ran out of time. The following day we spent it at the California
Adventure Park, which I had never been to. That park seems geared
a little more to kids, although I absolutely LOVED the IMAX Soarin’
ride. It’s an aviation themed attraction where you are taken on
a bird’s eye view of different cities in California that had/have
importance in the history of Aviation…
Because it’s an IMAX presentation, of course it’s a virtual reality
experience complete with the smell of Pine when you fly over a ski
area in Lake Tahoe, to the wonderful smell of orange blossoms when
you fly over orange groves…
Whether it was the beauty of flying over Yosemite, Malibu, San Diego,
or Palm Springs, I realized something that made me look at my hubby
and son in a new light. They see this type of view everytime they are
in the cockpit of a plane flying wherever it is they are flying at the
time. How cool is that?
We went on that ride three times because we enjoyed it so much, and
then I asked Flyboy if he enjoys the beauty of what he sees, even
when he sees it over and over. He told me the beauty of nature is
something he has never gotten tired of seeing and the IMAX view,
although close to reality, still doesn’t come anywhere close to the
real beauty of it all…
WOW is all I can say to that!!!
So, in answer to a dozen or so emails asking how our first trip
together with Flyboy’s newly found brother and his wife went, I
am happy to say…wonderful!
It seems like we have known each other for such a long time even
though we are all still learning things and getting to know each
other. For my new sister-in-law and I, watching some of the same
traits they share and habits they have is “freaky” considering they
didn’t grow up together…
We walked so much, my feet started to go on strike at the end of our
journey! They dropped us off at the airport and we headed back home…
Poor Flyboy and little bro didn’t get to take their afternoon naps,
but did real good and didn’t whine once! Hahaha
My ankles are a little sore. No, not from walking, from getting
whacked by a dozen or so strollers during the day. One left a nice
imprint of tire tracks…Impressive…
I spent the following day cleaning my house (as usual). Moosie and
Ginger nearly knocked me on my butt when I walked in and like
always when I have been gone a few days, stay real close for a day
or two to make sure I’m not going anywhere…
Flyboy still hasn’t had a chance to catch up on nap time because he
had to go down to Tucson the following morning and help the youngest
one move into a different apartment…
Poor guy can’t wait to go back to work to get some rest!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!
