Greetings…
The day before Halloween and here I am wondering whether I should buy
candy this year given the fact that I had no real amount of kids come
to the door for Trick-or-Treating last year. I got a token few kids
who always show up, not for candy, but to see Coco and Ginger greet
them at the door…
I’m sure they ended up with some major cavities because they got
handfuls of candy due to the lack of kid traffic. It’s a little
sad that the kids of today don’t realize how much fun they are
really missing because of the times we live in…
Sure, we had to worry about a few nuts that surfaced every Halloween
with razor blades in apples and a few cases of tainted candy, but most
of us never had that experience and only know about it from hearing it
on the news…
Halloween was probably the most fun of the holidays, if you can call
it that, but the level of fun and excitement that we all had at this
time of the year could have given Chirstmas a run for its money in
terms of fun…
It didn’t matter what the weather was and it didn’t matter how late
we were out, no one worried much about the dangers. Depending on our
ages, we were instructed by our parents on the dangers and hazards
that might be “out there”, but at a certain age, we wouldn’t be
caught dead trick-or-treating with our parents and there was no way
our parents would DRIVE us from house to house…
They didn’t have to…
While the kids of today may be “technically” smarter than we were at their
age in terms of electronics, they are sorely uneducated in so many things
and don’t even know just how much they are missing living in the times
we live in…
Oh well, I guess if they really knew how life was “way back when”, they
would probably get depressed because say what you want, earlier generations
before them knew what real fun was and enjoyed their childhood, (for the
most part)…
I guess I’ll go and buy candy and overdo the amount I buy out of habit of
years gone by. The worst case scenerio is Flyboy and I will satisfy a
sweet tooth to last until the end of the year…
And me? I’ll make sure I wear sweat pants for a few days to give my thighs
some room to expand…
BOO!
Happy Halloween everyone!!!
